2. Idiosyncracies – It Gets Updated…
We all have them.
For one, I have a phobia talking on the phone. It’s a strange thing but I usually keep my phone conversations on a professional level. Friends who call me suffer rejection because I keep personal conversations as short as possible.
So in order to maintain relationships, I prefer to sms or just meet in person to talk.
It is not just a simple avoidance of phone calls. I panic sometimes & even get anxious when my phone rings or when I am expected to call someone I hardly know. Sometimes not even to talk about serious matters.
I am only able to sustain hours-long conversations with a selected few. That’s one of the major contributors why I’m still single! Haha.
I also don’t like ppl who don’t have karaoke ethics.
Now, when I say that, it doesn’t mean that I have plenty. But one day, I saw the worst & am glad that I only a fraction of how they behave.
I don’t want to get too self righteous here. I just don’t like it when ppl hog the mike & then later still want to ’share’ the songs other ppl are singing. And they were practically snatching the remote & taking up other ppl’s singing time. I thought that was rather ungracious.
Another thing about me is this, & you better listen up if you want to be my long term friend: I don’t like it when people say things for the sake of saying it. Lip service. As much as I like flattery & affirmations, but pls, say things only when you mean it. Don’t praise me because there is nothing else to say or just simply to coat the words in sugar assuming that it’d be better for me. Tell me like you mean it. That’s what I’ll appreciate about a friend.
Of course, that doesn’t mean you do away with tact. Sugar coating & tact are 2 totally different things.
Just a little snippet of me that you might like to know. You don’t have to like it. You just don’t have to judge me.
^_^
Later.
